myself...again. Wow, I am a terrible blogger. As previously mentioned in my first post, my excuse for not being able to write that much was due to the fact that I was without a personal computer. I have written two measly posts from my computer at school, and since then, I HAVE A COMPUTER!!! My sweet and giving husband filled a void that has been in my life since April 2010: A brand new Macbook. He knows me too well. Tears of joy and appreciation strolled down my cheeks when I realized what lied beneath his adorable wrapping skills. He did not need to spend that kind of money on me, and he knows that I'm happy with just a card, but he also heard the complaints that frequently poured out of my mouth..."I hate not having a computer." "I can't believe how expensive it is to repair my computer." "I guess I shouldn't go shopping when I need to be saving for a computer." :( See, don't I sound pitiful?? Who would want to hear that!? :)
But really, I had no idea what he was giving me for Christmas, and it hadn't even crossed my mind that it might be a new Macbook. I think I was completely convinced that I was going to have save up and purchase one at a later date that I didn't even think he would do that for. Love him lots. :)
Back to what I was saying, I am a terrible blogger. I find myself thinking a lot about what to write about, but it simply slips out of my cluttered mind. I think I am going to start writing down my ideas as they come to me. After all, isn't that what good authors do!? That is, if I can even remember to that! Hehe.
I did think to write about the ever-so-popular/dreadful/forgotten New Year's Resolutions. Do they make you wince? Do you believe in making them? How often do you stick to them? I have had the same the resolutions since I was in 5th grade: Stop biting my nails and be more organized. SO cliche! I am clearly not creative enough to come up with great ones nor have I been all that successful. Obvi. (Warning: I use a lot of abbreviations for words that don't necessarily need abbreviating.) I think I need to do short-term resolutions:
1. Wake up at the time I set my alarm. NO MORE SNOOZE. (A girl can dream, right?)
2. Run the Music City half marathon....can't promise anything, but I will try.
3. Try being a vegan for ONE week. Thanks Oprah.
4. Read more novels....I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read. It's truly a shame that I don't do it more often, and I am going to make more time for it.
5. Try a brand new recipe once a week...and learn how to bake like a friggin' pro!
6. Remember that my husband is not one of my students and to not use teacher phrases AT him. :/
I've got plenty more. Trust me. When are we not thinking about how to better ourselves? At least I hope that you and I continue to find ways to make our lives enjoyable ones and purposeful and that our lives will better those of others. Love to all :)
